If you've never heard of warbands, here is a basic rundown. After the *spoilers* death of Guthix and return of the Gods to Gielenor, thieves and murderers in the wilderness found religion, and have become more organized. What this means for you is that every 7 hours in the wilderness there will be camps spawn and you can kill the NPCs there and take their supplies, which you can turn in to Quercus (tree dude by the G.E.) for xp or money. It's really ******* stupid to turn it in for money, xp is always better. Anyway, warbands are organized in friendschats to make it safer. A list of friendschats that are open are available on the official website (http://warbandtracker.com) 30 minutes before the wave begins. Each friendschat will have it's own rules, but you need to always pay attention to what the leader says.
In order to warband, you must have the following stats:
57 Woodcutting to make a waka
70 Ranged or Magic to use a levcl 70 weapon (or better)
13 Summoning (LOL) to use a Beast of Burden. I doubt you'll get away with using a Thorny Snail, but YOLO. Terrorbird (52 summoning) with Tireless Run scrolls recommended.
50 Defence to wear level 50 (or better) armor
If you have the requirements, it is suggested that you do the quest Summer's End to unlock the teleport to corporeal beast's cave via game's necklace. This is faster than using a waka.
Commonly used terms:
*beam - Each camp has a beam in the middle of it, which is used by the NPCs to --- actually idk what but scouters get there before you and use it to summon other NPCs to help kill the guys at the camp. If you are not a scouter, ignore this term and consider it as unimportant.
*kos - Kill on sight, no running away. If you can kill it, kill it. Anyone not in the friendschat shows up as a white dot on your minimap. Kill those. Only 40 people can join a friendschat because there are a limited number of supplies per camp. If you don't kill the white dots, they can loot and potentially cause you to get less/no supplies. Also don't use area-of-effect abilities or spells, such as bombardment or barrage, as these can hit other members of the friendschat. Some people are cool with it. I will ******* kill you. Seriously.
*scouters - The people who watch each camp to make sure the beam is intact until ready. If the NPCs spot you, the beam shuts down and the camp is "ruined", meaning in 5 minutes it will die. If the scouters succeed at summoning help, it lasts 10 minutes.
*sapk/slayernest - There are people who believe warbands makes certain skills waaaaaay to easy to train to high levels. These people decided they would start killing people in warbands (as it should be in the wilderness) to make it more of a challenge. SAPK, or Sixth-Age Pk, and SlayerNest are two groups of such people.
*taxi - At the end of certain camps (RDI and ELM) there is a person that everyone follows to guide them back to Edgeville. Not everyone uses taxi, but it is highly recommended. Also, don't ignore what's going on when in taxi, as you may get stuck behind a tree or attacked by something. (Although getting attacked isn't a big deal if you just leave auto-retaliate off.)
*RDI, ELM, and DWF - These are abbreviations standing for different locations in the wilderness. Red Dragon Isle, East Lava Maze, and Dark Warriors' Fortress, respectively. RDI = Take a waka to wildy pond or games necklace to corp cave, run East. ELM = Take a waka to wildy pond, run North. DWF = North of Edgeville lodestone.
Um... I probably forgot something. Feel free to reply with things I missed, as I know Honey will be glad to do.
