So as some of you know, RICC is here in Rhode Island on November 2nd and 3rd. I decided to go this year, seeing as I've never been. I decided to go as a Fem Jack of Blades, because I've never seen it done! I decided to go against the norms of the character and spice it up a little. The main focus was the mask anyway. For the dress, I got an actual dress and tailored it to my body, as well as modifying the corset on it. I added extra black-redish fabric to give it more sex appeal, since hey, it's female afterall. For the cloak, I'm simply just use fabric and made it. It's not much there to explain. The mask was the big part! 1. First I grabbed a plain masquerade mask and shaped it to how it's suppose to look. I cut the eyes more spherical too. 2. I paper mache-d the mask, forming it to the shape of the mask. I did 2 layers of that, then put string in the form of the designs on the mask. 3. I put tissue paper to add wrinkles in the mask, because the mask is suppose to have "cracks" in it. I also cut more of the sides off because I thought it should be thinner. 4. I painted the whole thing white for a base coat. 5. I painted it with black, red, and purple, and then added gold for the trim/on the string! ----------------------------------------------------------------- And now here's what everything looks like! When I go to comic con, I'll be putting black make up all around my eyes.

Very nice work. And there's a comic con in rhode island? Wow. They are everywhere now. I went to comic con in NYC a few weeks ago. Next year I may dress up. Hope you have fun there. =)
